Nae is an interesting take on what designer Thibaut Rouganne calls a minimalist juicer. Personally I can envisage a far more stripped looking tool for something as simple as juicing but I do like how the lines of the design emphasize its function. The entire thing could be made from one sheet of plastic and it’s far more compact than the traditional juicer.http://www.yankodesign.com/images/de...nae_juicer.jpg

The outstanding EZ Opener is a clever redesign of the can opener, simply because too many of us end up chipping our nails! Just kidding! The real intention is to make it easier for the silver generation and those with can-opening-issues, pop them open in a jiffy. The lever looks a bit elaborate to twist into place, but I guess if it works for grandma…it works for me!

Before they hit the showers, many people like to pump a bit of iron, even if it’s just to stay in shape. Building on this idea, designers Hong Ruei-Hong & Lin Pin-I came up with the idea to integrate exercise with taking a shower. I like the idea of this Bana Bender mix, especially for those folks who always look for an excuse to stay away from the gym. You don’t even need to include an extra 5 minutes or something…. just pump your arms while you bathe!http://www.yankodesign.com/images/de...ana_bender.jpg
The over-sized shower nozzle is a piece of elastic, bendable device. Holding the handles on both sides of the “Bana Bender”, you can work on your upper-body and take a shower at the same time.

The aim of this design by Jurmol Yao is to enhance the practicality of the portable bicycle tire pump. When attached to your bike, it doubles as an LED taillight powered by stored kinetic energy produced when you pump your tires. Simply genius.

Chair Brought to You by Smarty Balls
Jenagh, in Farsi means sternum; the flat bone shaped like a capital ‘T’ located in the center of the chest protecting the heart and lungs. The Jenagh chair has a light-weight metal structure enabling various sitting positions via smarty balls! I’m so serious right now. SMARTY BALLS. It’s supposed to be more comfortable, flexible and accommodating.

The Reading Finger
Finger Reader is a fine example of how visually impaired can be more independent in places like a grocery store or shops. The reader is a combination of a finger device and Bluetooth Headset, where the finger-pointer scans products for barcodes and relays the product information to earpiece as audio instructions. Info like product description, price, ingredients, nutrition etc. is easily accessible. I think it will be a good aid!
Finger Reader is a 2011 Sparks Award Entry.

Peering Lamp
The unique placement of the πR2 lamp’s rotating neck in combination with its curious bend not only make it possible to cast an inviting light in almost any direction, but give this design a feeling of movement and life. Bold coloring and touch of industrial style make this a great desktop accessory.http://www.yankodesign.com/images/de...01/01/r2_2.jpg

Generate Electricity From All Those Cars
http://www.yankodesign.com/images/de...1/magneter.jpg
What if we used the kinetic energy from fast moving vehicles to change a magnetic field to generate electricity? Apply the same methodology to high-speed rails and you’ve got yourself a new power source sort of speak. Benefits? Higher efficiency of generating electricity, relatively simple installation and infrastructure, no pollution and it’s not affected by most weather conditions.
