از جمله موارد مهمی که این روز‌ها بسیاری از شرکت‌های بزرگ فناوری سعی در تغییر آن دارند، نسخه مرورگرهای مختلف است. در حال حاضر، ماکروسافت تلاش‌های بسیار زیادی برای به تاریخ پیوستن اینترنت اکسپلورر ۶ داشته که تا حدی نتیجه داده است و بسیاری از مردم از این نسخه پیر و ناامن مهاجرت کرده‌اند، اما به علت پیشفرض بودن این نسخه در برخی از ویندوز‌ها، همچنان برخی از افراد از آن استفاده می‌کنند که بیشتر آن‌ها را افراد آماتور تشکیل می‌دهند.
http://weblogina.com/media/images/browser-google-abandon.jpg به تازگی گوگل اطلاعيه‌ای (http://www.njavan.com/forum/redirector.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fgoogledocs.blogspo t.com%2F2011%2F06%2Four-plans-to-support-modern-browsers.html) را منتشر کرده است که طی آن اعلام شده؛ از اول آگوست امسال، این شرکت سرویس‌های خود را بر روی مرورگرهای با نسخه‌های پایین‌تری که اعلام کرده است، غیر فعال می‌کند. این نسخه‌ها شامل نسخه 3.5 فایر فاکس، اینترنت اکسپلورر ۷ و سافاری ۳ میباشد که تمام نسخه‌هایی که از این لیست پایین‌تر باشند، در آن‌ها سرویس‌های گوگل غیر فعال می‌شود و کاربران امکان استفاده را نخواهند داشت و باید مروگر خود را به روز رسانی کنند.
گوگل با این اقدام خود قصد دارد که علاوه بر افزایش ضریب ایمنی کاربران در حین وبگردی، تمامی ویژگی‌های نوین همانند HTML ۵ را در طراحی صفحات به کار ببرد تا کاربران بتوانند از این زبان‌های جدید در طراحی بهره‌مند شوند و به طور کل چند مزیت را در کنار یکدیگر داشته باشند و بدین وسیله، محبوب‌ترین سایت‌ها را با آخرین تکنولوژی‌های طراحی و برنامه نویسی مشاهده کنند. گوگل با توجه به کاربران عظیمی که در سرتاسر جهان دارد، می‌تواند با این کار، به نوعی اکثر کاربران، حتی آنهایی که هنوز از نسخه‌های ابتدایی مروگر‌ها استفاده می‌کنند را به سوی به روز رسانی مرورگر‌ها سوق دهد.

For web applications to spring even farther ahead of traditional software, our teams need to make use of new capabilities available in modern browsers. For example, desktop notifications for Gmail (http://gmailblog.blogspot.com/2011/01/desktop-notifications-for-emails-and.html) and drag-and-drop file upload in Google Docs (http://googledocs.blogspot.com/2011/04/simpler-file-upload-in-google-docs.html) require advanced browsers that support HTML5 (http://slides.html5rocks.com/). Older browsers just don’t have the chops to provide you with the same high-quality experience.
For this reason, soon Google Apps will only support modern browsers. Beginning August 1st, we’ll support the current and prior major release of Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari on a rolling basis. Each time a new version is released, we’ll begin supporting the update and stop supporting the third-oldest version.
As of August 1st, we will discontinue support (http://docs.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=37560) for the following browsers and their predecessors: Firefox 3.5, Internet Explorer 7, and Safari 3. In these older browsers you may have trouble using certain features in Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Talk, Google Docs and Google Sites, and eventually these apps may stop working entirely.
So if it’s been a a while since your last update, we encourage you to get the latest version of your favorite browser. There are many to choose from:
