That’s what you’ll be yelling when you actually ARE flying high again in your own brand new “Yee” vehicle from designers Zhu Wenxi, Lai Zexin, and Pan Jiazhi. It can fly. Oh my goodness it can fly. Small and versatile, this YEE was made for white-collared men and ladies around the world who have the need to be relaxed at the same time as having excellent reliability and speed. You’ll certainly be speeding in this. It’s the future! Finally!
Flying cars. Here they are. These aren’t you everyday flying SUV car though, these are YEE. Made for the smaller amount of folks to be sitting inside. The most fabulous thing about this vehicle is its ability to transform into a flying machine, and it does that just so easily. Front two wheels go sideways, back two wheels turn outside. And bam! You’re zoomin!
Then there’s a propeller in the back wheels for max usage of room. In the air of course these propellers make you fly. On the ground they work as wheels and serve to make your ride look at cool as possible.
More of a hot motorcyclesque sort of roller than a car, this madness, this YEE will have you screaming. Screaming with pleasure and hot speed!

Flexio is this really awesome radio that’s solar powered and portable. I’m willing to overlook the “only one fixed FM channel” stand for the cute little paper packaging it comes in. I’m sure the dynamics of manufacturing this are going to be reasonable, because one can even use it for promotions and gifts…like ask someone to advertise on its package. The innovative factor comes from the flexible speaker & flexible solar cell. It’s designed to be used within the station-waves range, but could be modified to receive internet radio via WiFi or WiMax.

The aerial camera is not a new concept to us. The trend started with the Flying Stick (http://www.yankodesign.com/2008/01/24/flying-stick-camera/) and moved on with a Balloon (http://www.yankodesign.com/2010/05/05/capture-cleavage-pictures-the-legit-way/) to the Boomerang (http://www.yankodesign.com/2009/03/03/boomerang-that%E2%80%99s-got-an-identity-crisis/)! This time around we have the camera disguised as a Glider. It takes videos and stills but to take flight, you slingshot it into the air. At its peak, the glider’s folded wings bounce back into shape and aid in its casual glide.

Today my uncle and I were driving in his truck. We live in the USA, in Minnesota, where it’s currently snowing; his truck has a plow on the front. We were traveling at a modest 10 mph, and suddenly there’s a speed bump, we go over it, CRUNK goes the plow into the ground afterward, we almost flip the truck! We weren’t even going fast, and we were punished!
What could be done! Designers Jae-yun Kim & Jong-Su Lee say it’s time to move on! No more of this silly giant bumps in the road when we could advance!
So what do they do?
They make a speed bump that’s based on retractors that open if the impact with them is small enough. These speed bumps can be configured so that if a car is going below 30km/h, the speed bump flattens; over 30km/h, the force causes the retractor to stay closed, keeping the speed bump active.
What a lovely goal: “Encouraging drivers to retain a constant slow speed will reduce the amount of stops and starts made, and thus, the amount of exhaust waste from the car. It is hoped that this retractable speed hump would therefore have positive effects on energy consumption and pollution.”
