Kawasaki announces four 2010 street bikes
http://pictures.topspeed.com/IMG/crop/200910/kawasaki-announces-f-10_460x0w.jpg (http://www.topspeed.com/motorcycles/motorcycle-news/kawasaki-announces-four-2010-street-bikes-ar79999.html)
Kawasaki starts the week at full throttle and releases the first photos and info regarding four of their 2010 street models, the Ninja ZX-10R, Z1000, Concours 14 and Versys. We have come to find that they are a bit retained with the upgrades, something that defines their strategy in the uncertain times that we’re traversing.
http://pictures.topspeed.com/IMG/crop/200910/kawasaki-announces-f-21_180x0w.jpg (http://www.topspeed.com/motorcycles/motorcycle-news/kawasaki-announces-four-2010-street-bikes-ar79999/picture325085.html)
The best example in this concern is definitely the new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, which gets the looks of its middleweight brother, the ZX-6R, and an 18-position Ohlins steering damper. I believe it’s in vain mentioning how much more we were expecting considering the competition in this class, but in the end 200bhp is nothing to laugh at.
http://pictures.topspeed.com/IMG/crop/200910/kawasaki-announces-f-11_180x0w.jpg (http://www.topspeed.com/motorcycles/motorcycle-news/kawasaki-announces-four-2010-street-bikes-ar79999/picture325075.html)
At least Kawasaki doesn’t break the “all-new 2010 Z1000” promise and the new bike will be powered by a 1,043cc inline-four engine developing 136bhp and 81lb/ft of torque. The frame is now made of aluminum while the suspension and brakes are new as well and the thing has a dry weight of 436.9lbs (198.2kg). The 2010 Kawasaki Z1000 also looks new, but that doesn’t necessarily mean better. It should make a statement against motorcycles such as the Ducati Streetfighter and MV Agusta Brutale 1090RR, but definitely not at a first glance.
http://pictures.topspeed.com/IMG/crop/200910/kawasaki-announces-f_180x0w.jpg (http://www.topspeed.com/motorcycles/motorcycle-news/kawasaki-announces-four-2010-street-bikes-ar79999/picture325064.html)
The 2010 Kawasaki Concours 14 gets traction control and a fuel economy mode as well as anti-lock brakes and a much more appealing design.
At the bottom of our list is the new Kawasaki Versys, which gets a new strange headlight and what we dare calling a facelift. Powered by the same 62bhp 649cc parallel-twin, this versatile middleweight motorcycle
http://pictures.topspeed.com/IMG/crop/200910/kawasaki-announces-f-5_180x0w.jpg (http://www.topspeed.com/motorcycles/motorcycle-news/kawasaki-announces-four-2010-street-bikes-ar79999/picture325069.html)
should now be an even sweeter ride thanks to the new footpegs with rubber inserts, clearly a nice touch claimed to reduce vibrations.
Expect to read more about each model on this page in the next couple of days.

Harley Davidson Circa 2020
Somebody pass me a helmut and a time travel ship because if this is what Harley bikes look like in 10 years, I’m so there. Designer Miguel Cotto pays homage to the big road hogs by keeping the large 883cc engine, complete with high revs and roars. The similarities end there. The design is almost tron-like in execution. Check out the wheel hubs. They’re actually giant bearings. I do see glimpses of Harley DNA in the center chassis but seriously, can you image any road warriors riding this?

Electric Motorcycle Route 66
What’s got two bald tires, runs on electricity, and is red and black all over? ZEVS! An elegant futuristic electric motorbike by three fellows, one of whom we’ve had up on Yanko before: Bernhard Ranner (http://www.yankodesign.com/search/%22Bernhard+Ranner%22). Look and see, see and judge weather this bike performs to your aesthetic and atta-glance logistics standards if you dare.
The aim of this motorcycle, as stated in it’s outline, is thus:
“The first electric motorcycle for the real biker.” Designs for “real men”, dusty roads, in the spirit of Harley Davidson, Custom Chopper culture and the good old Route 66 romance.
Now I’m gonna always be the first to say “real men” is sort of an oxymoron where I come from, but let’s go on from there. Given the lack of statistics and logistical data we’ve been give, take this bike apart: will it be safe to have that seat in that sort of proximity to the back tire? Where will the left leg go? Will the red and blackness be outlawed like the Air Jordan Ones?
All these questions may also pale in comparison to the wildness of the design. These things often happen. Write on up! Take a crack at the keyboard. Will it blend?
Designer: Bernhard Ranner (http://www.yankodesign.com/search/%22Bernhard+Ranner%22), Anders August Kittilsen, and Rudolf Stefanich

2010 Triumph Daytona 675 Preview
http://pictures.topspeed.com/IMG/crop/200910/triumph-daytona-675_460x0w.jpg (http://www.topspeed.com/motorcycles/motorcycle-reviews/triumph/2010-triumph-daytona-675-ar79909/picture324742.html)
Triumph’s middleweight supersport model, the Daytona 675, has had a very successful year and it all started when the British engineers tweaked the engine for 3bhp more, reduced weight with as much as 3kg and added Nissin calipers, while also giving it a sportier look. With all these improvements, it won the Supertest and Masterbike awards, while MCN (http://www.motorcyclenews.com/) called it ‘Sportsbike of the Year’.
So this is clearly a very successful model that Triumph keeps virtually unchanged for 2010 and hopes for at least the same results while preparing their next move. Meanwhile, fans will have to declare themselves satisfied by the new Caspian Blue paint with gold wheels or even turn to the Red and Black 2009 color schemes, which are still available for next year’s model.
Apart from the rather cool new color scheme, the 2010 Triumph Daytona 675 also comes with new clocks, which do look better, but could have brought in more functions apart from average fuel economy and lap timer-equipped setup, which also characterize the 2009 model year.

Magic Tricycle
red dot award
red dot award: design concept 2009
http://www.red-dot.sg/concept/porfolio/o_e/03PIC/R019_1.jpg
Magic Tricylce is an innovative concept vehicle with a unique response to an old problem – heavy traffic. It transforms its format from a three-wheel car to a two-wheel motorcycle.
The increasing amount of traffic is one of the most challenging issues the transportation industries must face, and many ideas have been offered as the answer so far. The Magic Tricycle concept stands in a unique position to provide a solution.
The size of the vehicle has a huge effect on its performance in traffic jams. Among the two dimensions of width and length, vehicle’s width plays the main role due to the limited width of streets. A motorcycle can travel in traffic much more easily than a car due to its slim body. So, if it were possible for a car to transform into the shape of a motorcycle whenever it confronts congested areas, it would have the same freedom as a motorcycle.
Magic Tricycle drives on all three wheels for typical highway use, but can swivel around a longitudinal axis to run on the front and the rear right wheel only, with the third wheel elevated into the air. To elevate the side wheel, a spoiler at the tail of the vehicle erects. To complete the action, the seats rotate to keep the occupants sitting in an upright position. The airborne wheel opens up its blades to operate like a helicopter tail propeller and aid stability.
Magic Tricycle can be parked in both modes. In motorcycle mode, it occupies much less parking space. For parking in motorcycle-mode, two retractable jacks open from the sides to hold the vehicle upright.
One of the biggest challenges of this concept was designing it to be aesthetically appealing, attractive, and harmonic in both its two stances. The great feature of this revolutionary design’s style is the simultaneous presence of a symmetrical form in motorcycle-mode and a completely asymmetrical form in car mode

Electric Racer
If given a free hand and will, designer Maarten Timmer hopes to recreate bike-racing magic with an Electrical Powered Motorcycle! Don’t be so lofty and hear his plans out. This is what the VertiGO features: electric propulsion, low noise and emissions, a silent motor, high torque, very fast acceleration, maximum speed on the straights (100 to 150 km ride on a “battery pack”).
“The Vertigo differs drastically in technology. You have an electric motor instead of a combustion and the energy storage is different (battery packs instead of a fuel tank). The powertrain so different from a regular model, has its impact on the design. The design / styling of the bodywork is inextricably linked with the technology. Cases such as wheelbase and overall ergonomics of a race engine are crystallized in recent decades and have proven (almost) optimal. It is also my opinion, wise to the development step by step to implement, since the motor world guarded in of change. “
