جگوار کارز شرکت تولید کننده ماشینهای لوکس می باشد که دفتر مرکزی آن در کاونتری انگلستان قرار دارد. این شرکت به نام سوالو سایدکار کمپانی (Swallow Sidecar Company )در سال ۱۹۲۲ تاسیس شد٬ سپس در سال ۱۹۳۴ به اس اس کارز (SS Cars Ltd) تغییر نام داد و سرانجام در سال ۱۹۴۵ به نام کنونی یعنی جگوار کارز (Jaguar Cars) به ثبت رسید.
پس از چندین بار تغییر مالکیت٬ این شرکت در تاریخ ۲ ژوئن ۲۰۰۸ شرکتی هندی به نام تاتا موتورز مالکیت جگوار را از شرکت فورد خریداری نمود.

مشخصات فنی جگوار xf - 12-06-2009




آقای واین برگس رییس طراحان XF می گوید : در این مدل ما زیبایی - تکنولوژی پیچیده - نگاه به آینده و لذت رانندگی را به خریداران خود عرضه کرده ایم . یک استیل مهیج و یک نمای جلوی متمایز که به هیچ یک از مدلهای گذشته جگوار شبیه نیست معرف زبان طراحی جدیدی است که در مدلهای آینده کمپانی از آن استفاده خواهد شد.


طراحی داخلی زیبا از دیگر مشخصات XF جدید است. در داخل این اتومبیل به صورت کاملا مدرن از چرم و چوب و آلومینیوم استفاده شده است. نور پردازی زیبا از دیگر خواص کابین زیبای این اتومبیل می باشد . بطور وضوح جگوار از یک طراحی سنتی به یک طراحی اسپرتی مدرن لوکس در داخل مدل جدید خود دست پیدا کرده است . این موضوع با مشاهده جوی استیکی که کمپانی آنرا جگوار درایو می نامد قوت بیشتری می گیرد .


جگوار در بازار ایالات متحده از یک موتور V8 که حجمی معادل ۴.۲ لیتر دارد به دو صورت تنفس عادی و سوپر شارژ استفاده می کند که در حالت تنفس عادی ۳۰۰ اسب بخار نیرو و ۳۱۰ پاوند گشتاور ایجاد می کند.

در مدل دارای سوپرشارژ قدرتی معادل ۴۲۰ اسب بخار وگشتاوری معادل ۴۰۸ پاوند تولید می کند . گیربکس در نظر گرفته شده برای XF یک گیربکس ۶ دنده اتوماتیک است که قابلیت تعویض دنده بوسیله اهرمهای پشت فرمان را نیز دارد
