جمهوری اسلامی ایران در سال 2013 همانند سال گذشته جایگاه هشتم دنیا در تولید مقالات فناوری نانو را در اختیار دارد. کشورهای چین، آمریکا و هند به ترتیب اول تا سوم هستند.
براساس اطلاعاتی که پایگاه داده است‌نانو (http://statnano.com/report/s29) در اول ژانویه 2014 از پایگاه داده ISI استخراج نموده است، جمهوری اسلامی ایران (http://statnano.com/index.php?lang=1&ctrl=country&action=country_profile&id=105) با رشد 13.4 درصدی نسبت به سال گذشته میلادی، 4175 مقاله مرتبط با فناوری نانو منتشر کرده که حدود 4 درصد از کل تولیدات علوم نانو در سال 2013 را شامل می‌شود.
ایران (http://statnano.com/index.php?lang=1&ctrl=country&action=country_profile&id=105) در سال 2012 با حدود 1140 مقاله اختلاف با فرانسه (http://statnano.com/index.php?lang=1&ctrl=country&action=country_profile&id=77)، در رده هشتم جهان قرار داشت که در پایان 2013 ضمن حفظ جایگاه خود، این اختلاف را به 420 مقاله رسانده است. ایران (http://statnano.com/index.php?lang=1&ctrl=country&action=country_profile&id=105) همچنان رتبه اول جهان اسلام و کشورهای منطقه در تولید علوم نانو را در اختیار دارد و ترکیه (http://statnano.com/index.php?lang=1&ctrl=country&action=country_profile&id=226) و عربستان (http://statnano.com/index.php?lang=1&ctrl=country&action=country_profile&id=189) در رتبه‌های 21 و 24 جهان قرار دارند.
