This design notes is provided by Penta engineering corporation. This is prepared with many illustrations and specifications have been taken from applicable codes. Considerable confusion exists about the correct procedure for the design of anchor bolts and their embedment. Currently the accepted procedure for the design of anchor bolts is to design them as pullout shear cone, anchored at their base by heads or embedded nuts.
